Step Two weekend: 23th - 25th February 2018
We held our latest Step Two weekend at Cratfield from 23rd - 25th February 2018. The course was full, with every seat taken. The majority of those who had attended the Step One course in November returned and a few people from previous Step One courses joined the group. Everyone mixed well and joined in with the teaching and discussion sessions. There was a very supportive atmosphere on the weekend which enabled those present to share at depth and for healing to take place in people's lives. Several people travelled in earlier or stayed on after the weekend finished in order to have individual time with John and Merle.

One man who attended the Step One course in November has recently become a Christian and he shared his story on Sunday morning - click here to read his experiences and other items shared during the meeting which were relevant to the course.

During the weekend we explored the power of how we feel about ourselves and John asked if we agreed with the statement, 'How we feel about ourselves is, next to God himself, the biggest single influence in our lives'. We thought about the powerful effects nature, nurture and choices have had on our lives to date and how we can 'clear the rubbish' of residual emotions from the past in order to live freely in all of who God created us to be.

As always we ate very well and there was much conversation! We enjoyed farmhouse cooking and baking and had an enjoyable evening in a local pub as well as a walk in the Suffolk countryside. It was an enjoyable weekend and one which helped each one who attended to understand themselves and others better and to deepen their relationship with the Lord.

Some comments on the weekend -
  • 'I feel it will have been a life-changing weekend once everything has had a chance to settle. Wonderful to be surrounded by an atmosphere of love, acceptance and understanding and given permission to be who I am and to struggle. It's good to see that it's not just me, we're all on the journey.'
  • 'I felt encouraged and helped massively on my personal journey of identity and valuing myself.'
  • 'I feel that I have been helped to remove the barrier of my Phlegmatic temperament and allow my Melancholic to come out and flourish.'
  • 'Lovely weekend, great content, great company, made to feel very welcome.'
  • 'This is such an informative and enjoyable course. God's presence was so evident and the patience and acceptance that everyone showed about and for each other was so lovely and encouraging. Thank you so much.'
  • 'Lots to think about in a short space of time but very applicable and great to know community around that we can stay in touch with.'
