I so look forward to January. Although the weather can be atrocious – gales, rain, snow and frost. The first encouraging signs that the winter is on its way out have been the appearance of clumps of pure white snowdrops, golden aconites and the fragile hazel catkins. All of these miracles of nature appeared on time this year.
The winter skies have been amazing – with beautiful rainbows, spectacular sunrises and sunsets, followed by stars and moonlight penetrating the dark night. Each sunset gives assurance that there will be another day, following the night, and each sunrise is the fulfilment of that promise of a new day and its prospects. It never ceases to amaze me how the natural world continues to keep its pace as an encouragement to lift our spirits.
