We thought that any of you who would listen to Tim's talk on Sunday might want to be prepared so he has written the following:
'This week we are looking at Mark 4:1-20 - the parable of the sower. As you read it you will see how it follows on from the Bible study. The seed falling on good soil produces a crop just as the branches connected to the vine produce fruit in John 15 . We are also looking at how Jesus dealt with people: the demon-possessed man, the dead girl and the Pharisees. These can be found in Mark 5 and Mark 8.
As you read these verses in preparation for Sunday, consider the way Jesus left each situation. He takes time to explain his parable, he warns some to keep quiet about what they have seen, others he tells to share what they have experienced, and in the case of the Pharisees, he walks away with no explanation. Why? Perhaps Mark 4 gives us a good insight.'
