The Peace of God

Being a witness isn't easy! In Philippians 4 Paul tells us how to stand firm. He encourages us to rejoice always, to be thankful and to not be anxious. Then God's peace in and through us will be our witness.

Permission to be real

Jesus was troubled and wept with Mary and the other mourners over the death of Lazarus, even though he knew he would raise Lazarus. We will be affected by life and must allow ourselves to feel things and be real. We must also remember that what we feel isn't the final story. ​

Do not let your heart be troubled

As we look closely at John's gospel we see how Jesus enables us to understand how our hearts and minds work. We begin to understand how important it is to not allow our thoughts to determine our responses. We see the importance of church and how we support each other in establishing good patterns that allow us to not be troubled.

Freedom

What does freedom look like? 1 Peter 1 refers to being purified as we obey the truth. Our hearts and minds may go through a time of difficulty but through the Spirit of God, we have hope and can move into a place of freedom. ​
